Abstract

There are many reports on bactcrial species of urine cultures in other counties, but there are few reports in this area in Korea.
The author has studied about this subject.
Specimens of urine cultures were submitted from patients to the Seoul H hospital from January to July of 1985. 487 urine specimens were cultured, in order to refer domestic species in urine cultures. The results are as follows ;
1 . The number of bacteriuria were 256(52.6. %) among the total 487 specimens. Among them, single infections were 241( 94 %) and mixed infections were 15( 6 %). The most prevalent bacteria of single infections were E. coli and Streptococcus gr. D.
Those of mixed infections were E. cloacae and Ps, aeruginosa.
2. Species of single infections were as follows ; S.aureus, S.epidermidis, E.cloacae, S.saprophyticus, K.pneumoniae, A.calcoaceticus, C.freundii, P.vulgaris, S.1-iquefaciens, K.oxytoca, Flavobacterium, M morganii, Alcaligenes, E.coli, Strepto gr.D, Ps. aeruginosa, S. marcescens , P. mirabi l is .
3. Species of mixed infections were as follows; E.cloacae & Ps.aeruginosa, Streptococcus gr.D& A.calcoaceticus, Strepto. gr.D&. S.aureus, Strepto. gr.D& K.pneumoniae, Strepto. gr.D& Ps, aeruginosa, Stropto. gr.D& E.coli,E.coli & K.pnoeumoniae, E.coli & S.aureus, S.aureus & K.pneumoniae, A.calcoaceticus &M. morganii, C.froundii & Flavobacterium & S.saprophyti.cus.
